Japanese film makers have decided to do a remake of the popular Taiwanese film “You Are The Apple Of My Eye”, written and directed by Giddens Ko.
The Japanese version will be hitting cinemas this year.
Led by Yuki Yamada as Ko Ching-teng and Asuka Saitō as Shen Chia-yi, the movie aims to stick as close to the original storyline as possible.
The cast even went to Pingxi, Taiwan to shoot some scenes!
This will be the first Taiwanese film that will have a Japanese remake.
In the original film, the two leads have a 8-years age gap in real-life, although they’re acting as classmates.
Similarly, the Japanese leads have a 7-years gap!
In some of the still cuts released, fans of the original film are thrilled to see that even the style of the leads are similar.

If you noticed, the male lead also had a haircut in the Japanese remake!
There are no details on whether the film will be shown in Singapore, but wouldn’t it be nice to relive the same feelings as seven years ago?
FYI, the female lead, Michelle Chen, is already married with a kid!
