30YO Woman Found Dead in Dover HDB Flat; Man Who Was Potentially Involved Has Left S’pore

A 30-year-old woman was found dead in a Dover HDB flat. However, a man who was potentially involved with the incident has left Singapore.

Here’s what happened.

30-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Dover HDB Flat

On Monday (2 December), a 30-year-old woman was found dead in an eleventh-floor Dover HDB flat.

The police had received a call for assistance at 5:10 pm, and arrived to find the 30-year-old woman lying motionless in the HDB flat. Paramedics from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) later pronounced her dead.

According to ST, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was at the scene as well.

It is unclear whether the deceased was the owner of the unit in which she was found, or whether she was merely a tenant at the unit. According to a resident staying on the tenth-floor of the same block, many units in the HDB block are rented out, and the unit where the deceased was found had multiple tenants.

Man Who Was Potentially Involved Has Left Singapore

While the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are unclear, there’s one thing that preliminary investigations have revealed — a 34-year-old man who knew the deceased is potentially involved, and is believed to be able to assist with investigations.

However, the man has already left Singapore. In fact, he had left Singapore even before the call for assistance was made to the police. According to Lianhe Zaobao, the police are currently attempting to track the 34-year-old’s whereabouts.

In the meantime, police investigations into the woman’s death are ongoing.

Similar Case Occurred at Ang Mo Kio Last Week

Those who have been keeping up with the news this week would have noticed that this case bears some resemblance to a case which occurred at Ang Mo Kio a few days ago.

On Friday (29 November), police received a call for assistance to Ang Mo Kio around 1:25 am. They arrived at Block 125 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 and found a 67-year-old woman lying motionless in her fourth-floor HDB unit.

Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The next day, on Saturday (20 November), 66-year-old Ng Chen Heng was charged with the murder of the deceased.

According to a friend of the deceased interviewed by Lianhe Zaobao, Ng and the deceased had known each other for a long time. Ng had moved into the deceased’s HDB unit after being kicked out of his own house by his younger brother.

“Both of them were unemployed and often quarreled when they lived together. The suspect once beat the deceased until she had to be hospitalised, then disappeared for some time, before reappearing a few months ago. Afterwards, they continued to quarrel frequently, and the man even harassed the neighbors,” the 71-year-old shared.

If Ng is found guilty of murder, he faces the death penalty.
