Most mothers I know out there love their child and they would do anything for their baby. After all, a mother’s love knows no limit.
On the other hand, some mothers are willing to throw their child into the ditch to get themselves out of trouble.
And that was exactly what happened with Mercedes (no, not the car, but a name, though that plays a role here) and her mum, Heather Garcia.
Mum Impersonates Daughter After Getting Stopped By Police
Heather Garcia, 38-year-old mum was arrested after she lied about her identity while trying to avoid getting arrested.
She was pulled over in Utah by a police officer while driving a car with no license plate.
Drug equipment and a white powdery substance were found in her car.
It was also noted that she had multiple outstanding warrants.
Claimed Her name Was “Mercedes”
Honestly, it kind of sounds as if she just thought of a fake name on the spot to try to get herself out of the situation.
If only that was the case.
Mercedes is the name of her 21-year-old daughter.
Can you believe it? She impersonated her own daughter. I mean, your flesh and blood? Sis.
Poor child.
Garcia told the police that she was born in 1998 and went on to provide a false birth date that was 17 years after her own.
This is how Garcia looks like:
And this is her daughter, Mercedes:
If she says she’s 21… then her daughter must be 12.

Her real name and details were only revealed after a quick check by the police.
Not In Jail Just For Impersonation
Garcia was also driving without insurance, on top of driving with a suspended/revoked license.
She was hit with charges of providing false information along with several drug charges, including possession/use of a controlled substance, marijuana possession, and possession of drug equipment.
Garcia is currently held at Davis County Jail in Farmington, Utah.
I guess some mothers push themselves in front of cars to save their child while some name their child after a car and try to impersonate them afterwards.

I hope her daughter is taking the news well. Or maybe, she wouldn’t be surprised at all.
I wish them all the best.
In the meantime, we’re still trying to find out the brand of the car Heather was driving. Is it a BMW?
