Singaporeans are told repeatedly that the country we live in is safe.
And it’s enforced by coverage from the rest of the world.
Like CNBC who claimed Lau Pa Sat is so safe you can leave your wallet and laptop on the table, and magically turn a plate of chicken rice into a plate of fried rice.

And reports like the World Justice Project (WJP) that says Singapore comes in at number one when it comes to safety. Yes, above Japan.
But like our men in blue keeps reminding us…
True, we can go out and party till 3 am in the morning and get home safe.
And we can sit at the basketball court and chill with our friends (as long as we don’t become a nuisance).
But that doesn’t mean you can let down your guard here.
Or, as some people say, don’t leave your laptop and wallet on the table and go order chicken rice from a char kway teow stall. If you get what I mean.
Lady Robbed at Knife Point
On 2 April 2019, a lady made a police report at around 11 pm.

She claimed that she was robbed and assaulted by a man holding a razor blade.
He stole two mobile phones from her while another man acted as a lookout.
The incident happened at a beauty salon along MacPherson Road.
Police Jumped Into Action
In less than 24 hours, police officers from Tanglin Police Division managed to trace the pair of robbers and arrested them along Merpati Road.
The two men are aged 39 and 53.

The 39-year-old man was charged in court for armed robbery with hurt on 5 Apr while the police are still investigating the 53-year-old man.
If found guilty, they’re facing 5 to 20 years of jail time, topped off with at least 12 strokes of the cane.
Moral of the Story
If there’s one thing the Singapore Police Force has successfully done, they’ve established the fact that you can run but you can’t hide.
Criminals who commit crimes in Singapore can expect to be tracked down fast and harshly dealt with.
Unless you’re a certain church’s pastor, that is.

But that doesn’t mean Singapore is safe.
Because while our men-in-blue are great at catching criminals, they can only do so after a crime can be committed.
So if you were to be robbed and, touch wood, suffer injuries for life? Seeing justice done won’t bring back the old you.
So keep a lookout and stay safe, because in Singapore? Health is wealth.
And just come to the Goody App daily lah because we always have wise words like these to add to your life.
Would you be jailed for being half-naked in public? Well, the answer will shock you. Seriously. Watch this to the end and you'll understand:
