Just a few days ago, an abusive schoolteacher made headlines for forcing students to kneel as penance for misbehaving. Now we have a similar case – but of a mother and child. Talk about parenting with an iron fist.
This image, which shows a woman placing her child in a rubbish bin, was uploaded onto popular Facebook group HK Incident along with the caption:
“The kid’s not pooping, he’s being punished. There were two women and one man, all of whom were speaking Cantonese. They cursed at passersby who tried to intervene.”
This incident sparked the ire of many netizens, who spent a good portion of the comments debating whether she was from Hong Kong or mainland China. But the general consensus was that her actions were unacceptable either way – unlike the previously referenced teacher case, which received a more mixed opinion.
Facebook user Edward Junior Garcia commented, “Child abuser.”
While Nicyee Leung said, “What kind of parent will do something like this to their kid? Are you kidding me?”
Wing Sang Au, however, decided to utilise a more civil approach: “You shouldn’t judge without knowing the entire story!”
Though this seems like a pretty clear-cut case of discipline gone wrong.
