Superhero movies are the in thing nowadays: the Marvel Cinematic Universe films have made over USD $10.2 billion with its 13 films, and with more coming, you can expect the number to swell exponentially. And this doesn’t even include films made before 2008.
That’s a lot of money: it’s more than the GDP of Singapore in 2003.
With Marvel taking a large slice of the pie, you can expect DC Comics to jump in as well, with their own brand of superheroes that are just as well-liked. Their first two films, Man of Steel and Batman V Superman, have made over USD $1.54 million, so it’s not a surprise that they would be focusing a lot more on this cash cow than anything else.

Known as DC Extended Universe, a series of films have been earmarked for release, with the latest being Suicide Squad, which is set to be released in Singapore on 4 August 2016.
But two trailers have made the Internet go bonkers: fans’ favourite Wonder Woman, and of course a combination of all heroes, Justice League.
Wonder Woman is scheduled to be released on 2 June 2017, starring Gal Gadot (too bad, Megan Fox fans!) and Chris Pine, who recently was on the big screen as Captain Kirk in Star Trek Beyond.
Justice League, which is pretty similar in context with the Avengers, will be out on 17 November 2017. It will comprise the superheroes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg.
And just for the record, Marvel will be releasing three films in 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok. This year, other than Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange will be out in November.
We can’t wait, can we?
