If you’re a bit behind on the lives of SG influencers, you may not have heard the name Xiaxue for a while now.
However, there is some sad news on her part.
She has recently announced that she will be getting a divorce from her husband of 13 years, Michael Sayre.
The Announcement
In an Instagram post uploaded on Wednesday (5 April) night, Xiaxue announced that she and her husband had been separated for “a long time now.”
She said that she and Mr Sayre have “mutually and amicably” agreed on the divorce.
The couple has been together for 17 years and married for 13 years.
The 38-year-old, whose real name is Wendy Cheng, later added that the couple “took a long time” to make such a decision, which was “not an easy one to make.”
She said their focus is now on co-parenting their 10-year-old son, Dash, and “continuing to support each other” as they move on with their separate lives.
“17 years is a long time, and we had a good run with loads of love, happiness, and memories we formed together.”
Despite their split, Ms Cheng wished her husband “nothing but happiness” for his future and said that she “never regretted” picking him.
They are currently still separated and have not yet gotten a divorce.

How the Pair Met
In an interview with Singapore Brides, Ms Cheng said she met her husband, Mr Sayre, in 2005 through MSN.
He had randomly come across her blog and decided to e-mail her. She said that she usually ignores e-mails from men but decided to reply to him.
Moving back and forth between Singapore and America, he finally decided to move to Singapore for good after graduation.
The pair married in 2010 at Forlino’s, a now-closed restaurant at One Fullerton.
In March 2013, the couple had their only son, named Dashiel.
Where You May Have Heard About Xiaxue Recently
Xiaxue has been dubbed the “queen of controversy”, known for her outspoken nature and remarks.
Last year, there was a crossover between two of the most controversial figures in Singapore, her and Phoon Chiu Yoke, also known as the “badge lady.”
The “badge lady” was jailed in 2021 for violating COVID-19 rules by not wearing a mask in public.
While Xiaxue was filming in Orchard, the badge lady walked past, unmasked, although wearing a mask was mandatory then.
Xiaxue was brought as a witness at the badge lady’s prosecution trial in February.
