When I first heard of the Himalaya Salt Candy, I have to admit that I was a little sceptical.

Aren’t sweets supposed to be well… sweet?
I had my doubts but as an adventurous person, I decided to try it. Because why not. If it’s bad I will just spit it out and vow to never get it again.
And when I tried it for the first time…
I fell in love and needless to say I have never regretted the leap of faith I took with this candy.

Of course, you know the ones hanging off someone’s ear is fake. But do you know that there has been an increase in counterfeit versions of the actual candy?

High Sodium Level In Candy
And if you think the Himalaya Salt Candy is a “healthy” sweet, think again.
According to Malaysian dietician, Mohd Khairul Azuan, the candy contains a high sodium level.
The candy might be marketed as “throat soothing” but it is not advisable to consume it like how you would take lozenges. In fact, it can lead to an increased intake in salt, where higher sodium levels can cause a variety of health problems for you.
