Your smartphone is disgusting. Yes, we don’t even know you and we are saying this. Because we know that you bring it everywhere with you. It probably contains some form of food because you used it while munching on bread. It is probably stained with pee and shit because you used it in the toilet. It contain all the unnameables that you wouldn’t lick off the floor because you would’ve dropped it at least once. Yeah, it is that disgusting.

Worst still? Other than swiping on the screen with your fingers every few minutes (or seconds!?), you put that disgusting shit to your face when you make a call.

Seriously, do you need more convincing to clean your phone once a week? You might even want to consider cleaning everyday!

However, this can get rather tricky. A phone isn’t exactly the most waterproof thing in the world. You can’t wash it with the dishwasher, and you certainly cannot let it anywhere near the washing machine. You can’t actually soak it to “soften the dirt” nor can you rinse it off under running water. And no, we’re not talking about simply wiping it on your jeans. How do we do it then?

Well, depending on the level of risks you like to take and how badass you are, you can choose to omit several steps of the procedure. Just don’t blame us when your phone turns into a piece of useless plastic.

Firstly, remove any phone cover you are using and shut the phone down.

Using a piece of lint free microfiber cloth (the kind you use for your spectacles), wet the cloth and wipe your screen. If your screen has any coating (anti grease or anti glare etc), be careful not to wipe too hard or you will wear out the screen fast. Alcohol might be good at removing any grease on the screen but it is also good at removing any coating you have, so stay clear of that one.

Don’t use any soap or shit on the phone as they will leave a film on your screen which is total eyesore. Also, tap water might leave water stains too because of the chemicals in it so you might want to consider using distilled water. But of course, if you think it is inconvenient AF then just use tap water.

WIPE IT DRY!

Put your phone cover back and you’re done!
