Punggol Bridge, or the Lorong Halus bridge, might be known for its scenic views, but it’s now gaining another reputation.
It’s a place where Singaporean kids carry out some of the most viral actions of the week.
Like that kid who smoked & threw an ofo bike off the bridge.
Or the kids who decided to do a Prison Break and jumped into the water.
Well, now another youth has joined the legendary hall of fame.
Kid Filmed Cutting Up Shelter at Punggol Bridge
First reported on STOMP, a video featured a grinning youth perched on the side of the bridge.
Then, he reached up with a penknife and started cutting away at the shelter above.
In the stories, his Instagram account handle was clearly indicated.
A Public Apology
Handsome dude’s video went viral almost overnight.
And I’m pretty sure he’s thinking, oh shit. What if I become Michael Fay?
Which is probably what prompted him to put up a public apology on his Instagram Story.
In case you can’t read it:
I’m sorry for what I have done today. I know I shouldn’t have did what I did at RB and wear the kamikaze jacket.
I should have been mature enough to think what is right and what is wrong.
I admit that the thing I did was a crime as it counts under vandalism to public property.
I hope that you guys will not take any action against my stupidity. I hope you guys won’t press charges on me.
I would like to say sorry again as I thought that it was a childish act to look cool.
I hope that the fixed community would accept my apology.
The youth appealed for people to accept his apology and hope that no actions will be taken against him.
What Do The Netizens Say?
If there’s one thing the netizens in Singapore aren’t known for, it’s mercy.
And despite youth’s heartfelt apology, here’s what they’re mostly saying.
And there are those who are suspicious of his sincerity.
Some sharp-eyed folks suspect that the youth isn’t apologising to the public, but to his own community instead.
But one commenter was in the area and decide to show the aftermath of the incident.
Ouch.
The gist? An apology isn’t enough, little boy.
Well, at least one thing’s for sure, he’s probably learned his lesson this time. Probably.
At least he’s, so far, the only youth who has apologized for his attention-seeking Instagram story. Right?
