In our lifetime, we go on trips, short gateways and vacations that take us away from the hectic modern life we are in now. What makes or breaks the trip is the people who we went on the trip with. Here are the most common 5 types of travel companions you’ll definitely kana. Do you feel the same way we do?

Family
Most people are privileged enough to go overseas with their families. It could be during the December holidays when you were in primary school and secondary school, or it could be short getaways to Malaysia Bintan, or Batam during the March of September holidays. As you grow older, you’ll dread going on trips with your family because you can’t do whatever you want, but hey, at least your daddy is going to pay for most of the things right?

Your partner
Your partner is arguably the best travel companion. Together, you guys make the best pairs of traveller. You can make your partner do all the map reading and trip planning because you are lazy af, or you can be the planner, taking your lover to places you want him or her to see. Honeymoons marks the start of your marriage life, and it is a huge deal to go for a honeymoon and spent romantic nights with your lover before you return to reality.

Your crazy friend
Your crazy friend is the one whom you’ll go travel to crazy places –the dark bar in a tourist area, an exotic Thai bar, or do crazy things like paragliding like a bunch of adrenaline junkies. You and your crazy friend often try out new things together, and they often suggest virgin experiences–eating insects, sharing a dingy motel room. These are stories you’ll tell your grandchildren.

The tour group
To be a tourist, the best bunch of people to turn to is, of course, tour groups in package tours. These people are just like you–they want the comfort of the hotel room and avoid the rugged experience of the backpacker. You just want to be a tourist with your sunhat and camera, see tourist attractions and experience them without worrying about the next day’s itinerary.

Alone
Last but not least, travelling alone is a huge and growing trend. Travelling alone means you get to prove your capability as an individual and your identity as a learned and experienced traveller. It is something you boast to your friends about. Going solo also means you’ll be much more attuned to your own feelings and emotions during the trip, and do some soul-searching along the way. Just make sure to be safe, alright?
