Food trends come and go. Particularly in Singapore where food is as much a part of our identity as kiasu-ism.

There are some food trends that aren’t worth remembering (remember raclette cheese, guys?) and some that you’ll never, ever forget.

And guess what? One such unforgettable food is coming back to Singapore. Here’s what’s you need to know.

That’s today, by the way.

Half a year ago, Llaollao stores across the island closed shop suddenly, and another frozen yoghurt brand, Yole, replaced them.

Fast forward six months later, and finally, you see the brand’s first store open in Singapore. At Changi Airport Terminal 2, to be exact.

The store will be operated by Manna, a company with “an extensive experience” in the F&B industry.

Now, for those of you disappointed at the location of their store, don’t be.

Their second outlet will be opened at Tampines 1 by the end of June, and they’re already planning several other stores in different locations in Singapore.

Other than giving five lucky winners a chance to win six months’ supply of the chain’s popular Sanum, they are also issuing a loyalty card. Once the stamps are fully collected, customers can collect for themselves a free tub of frozen yoghurt.

But this is the end of her competitive career.

She announced that she had to retire from competitive skating because of medical reasons.

She was diagnosed with a neurological disorder. While treatment is going well, doctors have advised her to give up her life as an athlete. Even when she sought for second opinions, they remained similar.

The Singapore Ice Skating Association paid a tribute to her on their Facebook Page.

“We thank you, Shuran, for giving so much to Singapore figure skating.

“And we applaud your passion, strength and tenacity in promising to remain in the sport to help mentor our young skaters.”

2 Chinese Nationals Caught Stealing Cash on JetStar Flight Due To Alert Passengers

What do you do on a flight? Close your eyes and sleep the flight away?

Thankfully for the passengers on a JetStar flight from Singapore to Jakarta, some of the passengers remained alert.

On 13 June, two Chinese nationals were arrested for allegedly stealing cash on the flight. Facebook user Benedict Sulaiman took to Facebook to share about his experience on the flight.

He observed two passengers, seated at 17D and 11C, and found them behaving suspiciously. The guy seated at 17D opened the overhead compartment and told Sulaiman that he was grabbing a pen from his luggage.

Which was supposedly beside his backpack.

Feeling something not quite right with the situation, he decided to check his own bag. And he found his Singapore dollars gone.

He immediately alerted a flight attendant to the theft who immediately informed the flight manager.

When the flight landed, the suspects and witnesses were brought to the Airport Security. When the men was searched, they could not find the missing money.

After the passengers were disembarked, they searched the aircraft and found the money stashed under seat 11C, together with an emergency card.

The two men denied knowing each other and had tickets to Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and Cambodia.

Airport security and immigration officers took over the case.

So when you travel, remember to always keep your valuables on your body, yeah?

By the way, there’s a good deal for cheap SQ tickets here.
