(Editor’s Note: A previous version of this article stated that McDonald’s Singapore is bringing back their Monopoly game. Unfortunately, it was just the imagination of the writer and they are not doing so. We apologise for the misinformation and confusion caused.)

When it comes to burgers from McDonald’s, there are a few that reached godlike status. The McGriddles, the Double Quarter Pounder and the Samurai burger.

And guess what? The Samurai Burger’s going to make an epic comeback.

And it’s coming back not todaynot next week, but tomorrow, 4 Oct 2018.

The Samurai Burger 2017

When the Samurai Burger came out in Singapore’s McDonald’s back in 2017, it received a cult-like status.

In fact, it was so good our healthy colleague actually went gaga over a fast food product for the first time in his life.

Here’s the love letter he penned to McDonald’s when he tried the Samurai Burger for the very first time.

“Each bite provided a succulent mouthful of chicken meat, with a relishing mix of mayo and teriyaki sauce.

“It just glides down my throat, clean as a whistle.

“Granted, as I was saying, the chicken patty could be bigger. I finished the thing in less than one minute.

“But it’s just… shiok.”

Now, he’s fat and happily gorging on the scrambled egg burger (actually no lah, he just posed with it; have a look below and remember to follow us on Instagram).

On 1 Oct, McDonald’s Singapore uploaded this teaser on their Facebook page

That’s when we knew something was up. Nothing McDonald’s do is without meaning. Nothing.

When we clicked on the link provided, we’re brought to McDonald’s Instagram story where they had an interactive comic on the Samurai Burger.

Their latest story (at the time of writing) showed the Samurai Burger landing in Singapore. And their final instalment of the story will be uploaded either today or tomorrow.

Based on our fine-tuned Johnny-English-detective senses, the final instalment will probably announce the sale of the Samurai Burgers.

And We Were Right

According to online sources, McDonald’s is going to sell their Samurai Burgers from 4 Oct onwards.

The Samurai burgers will be making their reappearance in Singapore’s McDonald’s alongside the Dinosaur McFlurry (think Milo Dinosaur, except replace the Milo with McDonald’s decadent soft serve), and Roasted Sesame & Seaweed shaker fries.

Each burger will set you back by $6.10 (ala-carte) and comes with either chicken or beef patty.

With their scrambled egg burgers, samurai burgers, shaker fries and spicy nuggets, we can definitely say that McDonald’s is looking to end 2018 on a bang for Singaporeans.

I’d say you can almost forgive them for not bringing the salted caramel chocolate pie into Singapore.

Okay, maybe not. McDonald’s Singapore, make it a perfect streak with the salted caramel chocolate pie, pretty please?

Either that, or bring back the damn McGriddles. World Cup is over but Singapore Premier League is still on mah.
