With so many new cafés popping up in the Duxton Hill/Dempsey/Rochester areas, we avid cafe-hoppers are constantly spoilt for choice.
But which ones have the best decor to help you get that one perfect Instagram-worthy #ootd shot? We help you find out.
1. Plain Vanilla Bakery
Tucked away at the end of Yong Siak Street, Plain Vanilla Bakery gives off a casual and laid-back vibe, which is what keeps their customers coming back. That, and their amazing cupcakes. It doesn’t hurt that they have great decor – snap a photo next to their rustic bicycles and upload it on Instagram!
Address: 1D Yong Siak Street, Tiong Bahru Estate, Singapore 168641
Opening hours: 8am – 7pm (Mon – Sat) | 9am – 6pm (Sun)
2. Bacon & Booze
Located just a stone’s throw away from Punggol Waterway Park, Bacon & Booze is a great place to grab a beer with some friends. They also serve some light brunch items, but the best part about B&B is its neighbour – a horse ranch.
For just $10, you get a 5-minute horseback ride (to help you burn off some calories from your food). Plus, not only can you snap a picture of yourself horseback riding, but also strolling down the Waterway Park – well worth your time travelling to the ulu Punggol area!
Address: 900 Punggol Road End (Track 24)
Opening Hours: 3pm – 1am (Tue – Fri) | Sat – Sun: 9am – 1am | closed on Mondays
3. Hyde & Co
If there’s one thing that makes your #ootd look good, it’s the classic white wall. And what’s better than a white wall with a super relatable quote to go along with it?
Location: 785 North Bridge Road, Singapore 198753
Opening hours: 11am – 6pm (Mon – Fri) | 11am – 10pm (Sat – Sun) | closed on Tuesdays
4. Noshery at Nosh
The sister café to Nosh has an Instagram-worthy spot wherever you look. It’s still relatively new, so you don’t have to worry about hour-long queues to get to your food!
Address: 9 Rochester Park, Singapore 139220
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 10:30pm (Tues – Fri), 10:30am – 10:30pm (Fri – Sat)

This place is the true definition of #throwback. Tian Kee & Co used to be a provision shop back in the day but has been converted into an old-school café complete with Kopitiam-style tables and biscuit tins.

Opening Hours:10am – 7pm (Mon – Thurs), 10am – 9pm (Fri – Sun)
9. Wheeler’s Yard
We can safely say that Wheeler’s Yard is the most well-known café on this list, with its signature blue iron gate having been featured on many people’s Instagram feeds. It’s hard to believe that just four years ago, this hipster hangout used to be an old warehouse!
Address: 28 Lor Ampas, Singapore 328781
Opening Hours: 11am – 7pm (Mon – Thurs) | 11am – 8pm (Fri – Sun) | closed on Tuesdays
10. Starbucks @ Rochester
Starbucks needs little introduction. Its Rochester branch, however, doesn’t only serve decent coffee, it easily makes the list as an Instagram-worthy café.
