3,481 COVID-19 Cases Reported on 10 Nov With 17 New Deaths

Yesterday (10 Nov) was the first day in quite some time that we were able to dine out in groups of more than two.

For those who don’t know, fully vaccinated members of the same household can now dine out at F&B outlets in groups of up to five. You’ll have to show proof of residence on their NRIC or Singpass app though.

With this restriction relaxed, there may be even more people heading to vaccination centres to get their first dose. But if that doesn’t convince them, the number of new cases certainly will.

3,481 New COVID-19 Cases

3,481 new COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday, an increase of 84 from the previous day’s tally.

The cases comprise 3,244 infections in the community, 229 in migrant worker dormitories, and eight imported infections.

Among the local cases are 506 seniors above 60.

17 COVID-19 Fatalities

Sadly, 17 more COVID-19 cases passed away from complications, bringing our death toll to 540.

Aged between 65 and 101, all of them had various underlying medical conditions.

MOH Closely Monitoring 7 Large Clusters

The Ministry of Health (MOH) is closely monitoring seven large COVID-19 clusters with new cases, the largest of which is at the Institute of Mental Health. With four new cases, the cluster now has 408 infections, comprising 381 patients and 27 staff members.

Two new cases also were added to the MWS Nursing Home cluster in Yew Yee, taking its total to 17 cases. All but one of the cases are residents.

One case each was added to the remaining five clusters:

Acacia Home – 47 cases
Jenaris Home @ Pelangi Village – 32 cases
Banyan Home @ Pelangi Village – 97 cases
NTUC Health Nursing Home (Geylang East) – 20 cases
NTUC Health Nursing Home (Chai Chee) – 16 cases

1,686 COVID-19 Cases in Hospital; 137 in ICU

At the moment, there are 1,686 COVID-19 cases warded in hospitals, most of whom are well and under observation.

261 serious cases require oxygen supplementation and 137 are in the intensive care unit, comprising 62 cases who are unstable and under close monitoring, and 75 who are critically ill and intubated.

Over the past seven days, the number of fully vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated cases who have been critically ill in the ICU are at 0.5 and 5.3 per 100,000 population respectively.

The same figures for seniors aged 60 and above are 1.9 and 45.8 respectively.

Over the same period, the number of fully vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated cases who died are 0.1 and 1.0 per 100,000 population respectively.

The same figures for seniors aged 60 and above are 0.4 and 9.5 respectively.

Currently, 85% of our population has been fully vaccinated and 86% have received at least one dose. 19% have received their booster shots.

Weekly Infection Growth Rate Goes Up to 0.88

Our weekly infection growth rate has gone up to 0.88 as of yesterday, up from the 0.82 reported on Tuesday.

This refers to the ratio of community cases for the past week over the week before.

The good news is that yesterday was the eighth consecutive day that our weekly infection growth rate has remained below 1.
