We’re all pretty judgmental people, including you and me. We all love looking at people – how they look, what they wear, what they do. Then we judge them.
Here are 10 realest thoughts that runs through a girl’s mind when they see another girl with 5 layers of make up. Ladies, agree?
Wah, is it you cake
Let’s face it, the first thing that comes to a girl’s mind when they see others with thick make up on is…cake. The common expression is “caked with make up” so one of the first few things that pops up is cake. I mean, it looks pretty similar, right? With 5 layers of foundation and concealer, and the lipstick as a cherry on top.
Wah, you so insecure ah?
Why would anyone need THAT much make up? It’s either because girls are insecure about their looks (not that we blame them), or they simply want to look better and believed that putting on that much make up can and will boost their self-confidence.
Make up free one meh?
We all have that friend who splurges on make up, Wah, your make up sponsored one ah. They could be doing make up tutorials on YouTube or Facebook, and no matter where or when, you’ll see them with make up on their faces. Simply because they have some lying around, maybe?
Do people actually recognise you?
I remember this Facebook post of a man appealing for information about his missing wife–“Help me find my wife!” Attached to this Facebook post was a photo of his wife. One of the comments went “Maybe she’s still at home, just without make up?” Burnnnnnn!
Maybe it’s better to go au naturel
You’ll be wondering if others are judging you the same way you’re looking at this girl with a face so caked with make up you wonder if powder will fly into the air if you gave her a slap. You’ll be wondering if it’s better to go without. Why do you need make up anyway? In this era of individuality, many people are embracing self-love, and the notion of being yourself. Sometimes, it’s okay to be all natural, and just be your true self–no make up or anything fanciful required.
So skillful!
If the make up is done well, and the girl’s features are accentuated, well done! If the girl appear beautiful and more importantly, filled with confidence; it makes you reflect on your own mediocre make up skills, and how applying make up is actually an art form.
Wah damn ugly sia!
Conversely…if things turned out bad, their make up might just look like blotches and patches on their faces. The girl’s eyeliner might be crooked, over drawn, and eyebrows aren’t really that symmetrical. Yuck.
Where got so much free time?
Ladies, I’m sure you know how much time applying make up actually takes. When you look at someone with really, really, flawless make up, you go “Does she wake up at 5 a.m. to get that perfect contouring done?”
The ah lian feel
We all know the ah lian look. Some combinations of make up might give off the “ah lian vibe”, that doesn’t really match the context, say, a wedding that demands a sophisticated look.
Maybe I should put on more too…
And finally, we might just go geez, maybe I should have applied more make up as well. That’s only if your first thought was #6. Whenever you see someone who’s more beautiful than you, you’ll wish that you have done something beforehand to beat them, even if there’s no competition going on between the girls.
