10 signs that your boyfriend isn’t a real man after all

We’ve known males to be the less mature ones, the species that women can’t fathom either. (So much for saying women are complicated.) However among the males we have the men and the boys. You know, the ones who hold the door for you versus the ones who make you hold the door for them. Your boyfriend may be reaching his thirties, but does that necessarily mean he is a “man”? Or your boyfriend may be just 18 years old but he isn’t just a “boy”. What tells you that your guy isn’t a man after all? (Maybe he’s still wearing Spongebob boxers for all you know.)

He asks you out to dinner but does not pay for it
It’s been a long time since you guys had a nice dinner and so when he suggests one, you get really excited and teary because he’s being sweet. That is, until the bill comes and he looks at you. Or worse, when he tells the waiter “She’s paying for it.”

He makes you jealous of other girls
A man makes other women jealous of his girlfriend, but a boy will make you jealous of other girls. He treats them better, gets close and intimate with them and even leaves you alone just to spend time with those girls. What a jerk.

He’s always late and worse
He never apologises for it. He doesn’t seem to think it’s a problem that he’s never punctual. You know, those kinds of males who think they’re never wrong? They’re one of the worst kinds.

He avoids commitment issues
Like settling down and marriage. He prefers staying in an open or semi-open relationship. Women love to be able to plan the “perfect wedding” with their S.O. But if your guy is not a real man, there’s no chance of having that conversation.

He doesn’t want you to meet his family
Some guys may not want to meet your family just yet because they feel awkward. That’s not so bad. Unless he doesn’t want you to meet his fam either. It could be that he is not serious about you, or he has another girl, or he doesn’t even want his family to know he has a girlfriend!

He is never there when you need him most
A real man will always lend his shoulder for you to cry on. Even if he isn’t nearby, he will call you and talk to you until you feel better. A real man goes to lengths to make sure his baby is doing okay. Your boyfriend always ditches you each time you need him? It’s a boy you’ve got then.

He does not admit his failures
He may have been unsuccessful at work or in school but instead of reflecting on himself, he blames someone else at work for it. He does not acknowledge his failure; instead he feels bitter at someone else’s success.

He lies
It’s that choice about telling the truth even if it will hurt like a bitch, or telling the well-thought out lie so that you won’t get angry. Lying is never a good thing in any relationship. A real man will tell you the truth even if it will anger you because he can take it like a MAN.

He does not allow you to mix with male friends
He’s insecure, he’s jealous, he’s suspicious. He doesn’t allow you to mix with other guys even if it’s your best friend or your best gay friend. Bottom line is, he doesn’t trust you at all.

He only cares about himself when in bed
Making love has never been pleasurable for you because it’s only about his own pleasures. The moment he feels good and completed, he finishes and goes to sleep. He does not think about your own pleasures and desires – that they are unfulfilled. A real man will know that making love is about both parties and not just himself.

Got yourself a man? Good for you. If you got yourself a boy, maybe you might want to let him read this article. It’ll be like he’s staring into the mirror and seeing himself. But be warned, see #3. It might not work if he’s that kind of boy.
