National Day is coming again and what better time to get into the patriotic spirit than now? Other than being a melting pot of culture and races, or what we like to call rojak.
Despite what people say, our little red dot is filled with talents just waiting for that opportunity to shine. Here are 10 products from Naiise that makes you want to support these local talents.
How many do you know of?
1. DODT
Have you ever wanted to create something of your own? Something you can share with others and be proud of? Well, DODT is proof that dreams do come true.
Hand-drawn and individually screen-printed, DODT adds a personalise touch to every of their product. From shirts to cushions, every product of theirs is made with passion and love. And how can you not love their shirts that feature cute and interesting puns? As one of their fans, I assure you their quality is worth every cent paid.
2. I’m IN
These cute and quirky undies instantly turn your lingerie from zero to hero. Made from premium cotton, you can be sure that you’ll be feeling comfy all day long.
And remember how some undies caused annoying wedgies, I’m IN provides full coverage so say goodbye to constantly wriggling your butt in an attempt to release the wedgie. Their prints and patterns make me want to buy the entire store down.
3. The Sock Avenue
Cute socks have always been the rage and these days, even plain-jane socks are getting way too overpriced. Scattered with adorable patterns and colours, The Sock Avenue sells affordable socks that are designed locally and actually look amazing.
So the next time you’re getting socks (which we assume would be very soon), check them out! Not to mention, a portion of the proceeds from every Sock sold goes to a local charity.
4. Leah Design
I love decorating my room with whimsical quotes in photo frames, and Leah Designs prints are perfect for adding an oomph to my space. A hobbyist turned freelance designer, her artworks made me realise that Singapore does have an amazing pool of talented human beings.
5. The Paper Bunny
Penning my thoughts down have been something I’ve done since young. The art of writing on pen and paper will always be vastly different from typing on a keyboard so I’m always on the lookout for cute notebooks.
I fell in love with these classy yet practical ones from The Paper Bunny. Not to mention the size makes it perfect to pop into my bag and bring it wherever I go.
6. Kith Cookie Jar
I never knew I could purchase food from Naiise until I went to research into it. Kirk cafe is probably my favourite and their cookies are a definite must try.
Rich, smooth and chocolatey, the sea salt helps to tone down the richness of the chocolate. While I’m not a huge fan of sea salt chocolate, this has definitely got me rethinking my stand.
6. Handmade Heroes
A firm believer of natural skincare products, Lynsey, founder of Handmade Heroes launched a range of skincare products that are sourced from the finest natural ingredients.
And as an owner of one of their many lip balms, I assure you that her products are gentle yet effective. Not to mention they are completely vegan and 100 percent natural.
8. Kilobite
A home-grown Singaporean t-shirt brand, we were incredibly amused at their fun slogans that inject personality into each shirt. With shirts that say ‘Paiseh, Chope Already’ and ‘DaoBao Already’, you’ll definitely enjoy wearing them out as much as we’d enjoy seeing you in them!
9. Snupped
I’d admit, I never once thought SNUPPED was actually formed by Singaporeans. I’ve always assumed it was international just because it was well-known and my friends were using that brand. I guess it shows that I shouldn’t be too quick to judge.
With a wide array of gorgeous sleeves, you can customise each sleeve to your liking too. And I love how it fits so snugly unlike many laptop sleeves. So go ahead and go crazy unleashing your creative mind!
10. Books Actually
Specialising in Fiction and Literature, Books Actually is a must go place for every book lover. Housing the largest collection of Singapore literary publications, their collections of books are simply incredible.
