You may be blessed with 20/20 vision but some of us are not as lucky and need to rely on prescriptive glasses or contact lenses to get that crystal clear vision.
If you have the funds and is a suitable candidate, you can opt to undergo corrective eye surgery as well.

In fact, with the advancement of technology in this era, there are a plethora of ways that you can correct your vision.
These methods have been proven to have a high success rate but there is always the off chance that there are a few unlucky ones who may have a bad experience just like this young 11-year-old girl in Hong Kong who may be just be scarred for life due to her experience with a hard contact lens.
It started when the young girl went to visit a doctor when she found that her upper right eyelid was swelling and inflamed for the past two weeks.
The doctor then diagnosed her with chalazion, a condition where blocked ducts in the eyelid result in small bumps and topical antibiotics were prescribed.
However, this treatment did not help her condition at all. In fact, it persisted and worsened: the girl started crying tears of blood, like a horrifying scene from a horror movie.
Her family immediately sent her to an eye centre for a specialist opinion.
The ophthalmologist arranged for her to undergo a CT scan where they discovered that she had a hard, fluid-filled lesion on her eyelid which they thought was a cyst.
You can imagine the shock and horror on the doctors’ faces when they did a physical examination after that and the hard contact lens flew out from the girl’s eyelid. After quizzing her family members, it was then that her mother remembered that her daughter used to wear orthokeratology lens two years ago.

The young girl used to wear the lens during the night to prevent her short-sightedness from worsening but one of the lenses went missing two years prior to the incident.
And this is why it’s incredibly important that when you visit a doctor, you have to let them know about any past medical incidents and history so that a more accurate diagnosis is given.
Admittedly this may prove to be a challenge for younger patients as they themselves are not clear about their medical history.
While there is no further information as to what happened to the girl after that, we hope that there is no permanent damage to her eyesight.
