Look, I know we say this every year, but please bear with me.
*Ahem*
With 17,000 new HDB flats planned for this year, 2018 is indeed a pretty good year for you to propose to your significant other! Yay!
…There we go. The obligatory persuasion sentence.
Seriously though, almost every year is a good year for you to BTO nowadays. With our dear government trying to encourage marriage and childbirth, the incentives are just getting better each year.
Maybe by the time I can afford a child, we’ll be given a monthly allowance for simply having one. That would be awesome.
Warm and fuzzy daydreams aside, let’s talk about the cold, hard concrete that makes up the walls of our houses.
Out of the 17,000 new flats, 3600 will be offered for the upcoming BTO exercise in February. In case you’re wondering, we are talking about new flats in Choa Chu Kang, Geylang, Tampines and Woodlands region.
…Geylang is going to be super expensive again, isn’t it?
According to HDB, the resale prices for flats fell by 0.2 percent in the fourth quarter of last year when compared to the previous quarter. For those of you who actually know what the Resale Price Index is, the decrease is from 132.8 to 132.6.
For the year of 2017, the Resale Price Index fell by 1.5 percent.
Well, technicalities aside, let’s talk about the BTO, shall we?
First and foremost, I’m pretty certain that the CCK BTO should be considered Bukit Panjang instead. It’s just one street away from Bukit Panjang MRT FFS!
Anyway, I would say that the CCK BTO is a great choice(Coz’ I’m a bias like that), and it’s totally not because I live in Bukit Panjang.
But seriously though, Bukit Panjang is a pretty darn good place to stay in. Just read this totally unbiased article I wrote for Bukit Panjang.
Surprisingly, the non-mature towns/estates BTO this time around are not that far from the MRT station!
I can’t say much since I don’t go to the north that often, but if you’re a fan of the northern region of Singapore, do consider the BTO here!
This Geylang. Geyland expensive. Bad, bad Geylang. (Most likely. I mean— you can’t expect this region to be cheap, right?)
Just the name Tampines gives me a headache. It’s kinda like the Jurong East of the east side of Singapore, with lots of malls and people.
Oh, the sheer amount of people.
If that’s your kind of thing and you can afford a house in Tampines, by all means! Though, the location of this BTO is kinda awkward. I would consider this the love child of Tampines and Pasir Ris, if you get what I mean.
So, that’s about all the things I can talk about! Happy BTO-ing!
Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
