It was just a regular Sunday on January 21.
10 stations on the East-West Line was down, but passengers on board a particular SBS Transit shuttle bus had one more reason to sulk.
What would have been a quiet and peaceful bus journey turned into a loud boxing ring:

Here’s a short transcript of the conversation, argument, show…whatever you call it.
The man in the blue top starts to provoke (presumably) the man in a white top and jeans standing next to him:
“Man in Blue (MB) : F*** you!
(Offscreen): Kan ni ma de –
MB: Well f*** you, b*stard!
(Offscreen): (Unintelligible)
MB: Ok, that’s what you want to say? Speak properly, d*ckhead!”
He paused for a while, before starting again.
“MB: Come on, go back and learn some English! Sh*t!
(Offscreen): (Unintelligible)
MB: F*** off!
Man in White (MW): F*** you ah!
MB: Yeah yeah, f*** off, d*ckhead!”
And let’s just skip the rest cos it got way too vulgar and uncalled for (you can watch the video above for full experience).
MB then shakes his leg a few times, before kicking a box on the ground. From the video, it can be seen that it contains an electric fan and belongs to MW.
Both then exchanged kicks and got into the ‘ready to fight’ position, while (still) cursing at each other.
The two female passengers who were standing close to them realised what was going to happen and quickly moved away.
There and then, a SBS Transit personnel, whom I would assume to be the bus captain, steps in.
MB is so agitated, he ignored the personnel and continues to hurl vulgarities.
He was then led to the front of the bus by the personnel.
This lady wins
Well, if you’ve been focusing on the exchange of words, you probably didn’t notice this eye-catching sight.
The lady sitting beside the netizen who provided the video was watching a video throughout the fight.
If you look closely…she was watching a drama series!
As if a drama wasn’t unfolding right before her eyes.
What netizens say
The video has garnered more than a million views and you could guess that the number of comments are pretty proportionate.
Most are scolding MB for “talk(ing) only” and saying how he can’t really fight.
Here are some of the more prominent ones that I saw after scrolling through hundreds of comments:
A netizen managed to state a very important point that we should all ponder about:
And this is a question that nobody can answer:
Of course, the ultimate victim:
And the educator, as always.
Thoughts
To be honest, nobody knows why the fight even started.
Judging from the video alone, everyone would agree that MB is the one at fault.
But do remember that this is only a portion of the truth, so don’t be too quick to judge others!
