In the past, if you hear the word “BTS” and “ARMY”, your mind would automatically wander to the men in green doing questionable things behind the scenes. These days, when you put those two words together, you’ll suddenly hear a fan chant or hear a particular song named after a baking ingredient.
This time, we’re not here to announce their potentially new song named after a cooking ingredient but we are here to bring some disheartening news which the ARMY would have already known by now.
A Total of 3 BTS Members Have Now Been Tested Positive for COVID-19
Three members of the K-pop group BTS have tested positive for COVID-19. They were tested positive after their return to South Korea from their in-person concerts in the United States.
The three members which tested positive are the leader of the group, 27-year-old rapper, RM, 29-year-old vocalist, Jin and 28-year old songwriter and rapper, Suga.
First to Be Detected
Suga whose real name is Min Yoon-gi was first to be detected with the virus during his self-quarantine on 24 Dec. After he was tested positive, he administered self-care at home although he did not have any symptoms.
RM and Jin
The next day, RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-Joon, and Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-Jin, tested positive, too.
They had initially tested negative on their return.
RM did not show any symptoms but just as he was preparing to leave mandatory quarantine, his positive test held him back.
Jin tested negative a second time as he left quarantine but he experienced some symptoms such as a slight fever and other flu-like symptoms. Soon enough, he too was tested positive and is undergoing self-treatment at home.
Jin and RM did not have any contact with other group members after their return to South Korea.
All members have completed the second dose of the vaccine in August.
