Near the end of April, we were looking forward to the end of May. And now that it’s the end of May, we’re now looking forward to the end of June instead.

And another thing has remained constant: our desire to see a low and stable number of cases daily.

Fortunately, it’s been that way, even today.

Today, there are 506 cases being reported.

This means Singapore now has 34,366 cases.

Out of today’s cases, 2 are Singaporeans or Singapore PRs. 3 are work pass holders who don’t live in dormitories, which means the number of local community cases is 5.

The others are work permit holders residing in dormitories.

On average, based on yesterday’s numbers, the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 6 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 5 per day in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at an average of 2 per day in the past two weeks.

And today, we all also got to know that there had been three prison inmates who had once been tested positive for COVID-19, though there’s no cluster there.

3 New Inmates & a Nurse in Changi Prison Have Been Tested Positive for COVID-19 But It’s Not a Cluster

Today, it was reported that 3 new inmates and a nurse in Changi Prison had tested positive for Covid-19.

The three inmates were new and were still undergoing cohort segregation when they were found to have Covid-19 via a swab test.

They were immediately separated from the others and placed into a separate facility. Two of the inmates have recovered and were transferred back to the general prison populace.

The third inmate, while he has tested negative for Covid-19, remain separated as “an extra precaution”.

The staff nurse, the Singapore Prison Service (SPS) adds, has also recovered and returned to her duties.
