On 29 Oct, we had over 4,000 cases, a number that supported our authorities’ prediction.
Thankfully, yesterday, things are slightly better with 3,112 cases.
3,112 COVID-19 Cases Reported on 30 Oct
3,112 new COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday (30 Oct), a decrease of 1,136 from the previous day’s tally.
The cases comprise 2,608 infections in the community, 500 in migrant worker dormitories, and four imported infections.
Among the local cases are 587 seniors above 60.
14 New Deaths
14 more COVID-19 cases passed away from complications, bringing our death toll to 394.
Aged between 63 and 98, all had various underlying medical conditions.
Active Clusters
The health ministry is monitoring various active clusters with new cases. Amongst them, the biggest cluster is from the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) with 237 cases.
Three new cases were amongst the 237 cases, of which 16 are staff members and 221 are patients.
The second-largest cluster is from AWWA Community Home for Senior Citizens. There was transmission amongst staff and residents. Two of the cases are staff members, 82 are residents and one of them is a household contact.
Additionally, a new case that is linked to the cluster is detected. In total, the AWWA Community Home for Senior Citizens has 85 cases.
With a total of 84 cases, Banyan Home @ Pelangi Village has three new cases. There is transmission amongst staff and residents there as well. Of the 84 cases, one of the cases is a staff member while the other 83 are residents.
Located at 10 Buangkok View Block 9, ECON Medicare Centre & Nursing Home has 29 new cases. Four of the 29 cases are new cases. All of these cases are residents of the home.
With 20 cases, St Luke’s Hospital cluster consists of four staff members and 16 patients. There are seven new cases amongst the 20 cases.
A new case is added to PCF Sparkletots @ Whampoa Block 85. In total there are 18 cases of which 11 of them are students and seven of them are household contacts of the cases.
Another active cluster with a new case is PCF Sparkletots @ Changi Simei Block 141. There’s transmission among students in the cluster. Of the 15 cases, there are 11 students, two staff members and two household contacts of the cases.
The Orange Valley Nursing Home at Clementi with a new case added to the cluster. The cluster now has 11 cases in total and all of them are residents.
1,627 COVID-19 Cases Warded in Hospitals; 129 in ICU
At the moment, there are 1,627 COVID-19 cases warded in hospitals, most of whom are well and under observation.
267 serious cases require oxygen supplementation in the general wards.
While in the ICU, there are 69 cases that are unstable and under close monitoring to prevent further deterioration and 60 who are critically ill and intubated.
The ministry did not specify how many cases are undergoing home recovery, or in community care and COVID-19 treatment facilities.
As of 29 Oct, 84% of the people in Singapore are fully vaccinated while 85% have received at least one dose. 15% of the people have received their booster shots.
