32YO Who Had COVID-19 & Died in S’pore Had Not Died Due to COVID-19 Infection

Two days ago, it was reported that a 32-year-old Indian national who works in Singapore has passed away.

A day before his death, he took a test for Covid-19 and was told to stay at his residence while waiting for the results.

The results subsequently revealed that he was infected with the virus.

But by then, he had passed away.

When his death was reported, his cause of death was unknown and the authorities immediately investigated to see if he had died from Covid-19.

If he did die to Covid-19, he’ll become the youngest fatality here in Singapore.

Turns Out, He Did Not

According to an update provided by the Ministry of Health (MOH), the 32-year-old Indian national (case 1604) did not die of Covid-19.

He had succumbed to ischaemic heart disease instead.

According to SingHealth, ischaemic heart disease is also known as coronary artery disease. It happens because the lining of coronary arteries (which supply blood to the heart) clogs up with cholesterol and fat.

When the blood supply to the heart is interrupted, the heart will die within a short while if the flow is not restored.

In other words, a heart attack.
