Rebecca Lim’s wedding has already stirred a media buzz surrounding the event, but not much attention has been paid to the guests invited.
And one of them includes nostalgic faces from City Beat.
Not gonna lie, I don’t know the show, so this one is for the older folks.
Unexpected Reunion
Almost twenty years after the show, the four hosts reunite at Rebecca Lim’s talk-of-the-town wedding (27 Nov).
Without missing a beat, Sharon Au took a few pictures with her City Beat co-stars that includes Bryan Wong, Kym Ng, and Lina Ng, and uploaded them to her Instagram account.

The 47-year-old actress-turned-investment-director captioned, “City Beat 2022 grand Reunion” and “Ah Hao watching over you from afar.”
The latter sentence was actually about one of her characters on the show, a maid named Ah Hao, who constantly donned signature black pants and a white top outfit. Sharon is also currently residing in Paris.
Now, if you’re as confused as me, congrats: you’re young.
But here’s some context.
About City Beat
City Beat was a variety program that debuted in the late 1990s. The premise of the show was that the host took their audience to several different spots around Singapore and covered a wide range of topics, including cuisine, culture, and jobs.
Kind of like what influencers are doing nowadays, although it’s unknown if the places they went to were sponsored or not.
Although several artistes were invited to appear in some episodes, the core hosts were Sharon, Bryan, Kim, and Lina.
And it seems that the show was well-received, as netizens commented how much they loved it.

My editor, who knows about the show, said it was the show that made him rush back home after school to watch it. And once a place is recommended, he would visit it.
Yes, everyone was once young and obsessed with influencers.
Rebecca’s Wedding
The local actress finally tied the knot with British-Singaporean Matthew Webster, at The Ritz-Carlton last Sunday (27 Nov).
Surprisingly, Lim had not made her wedding date publicly known. Guests were even urged to wait until the next day to publish any photos from the wedding on social media.
Although she recognized that it was inevitable that word about her wedding may spread owing to many visitors, she insisted that she did not actively try to conceal it either.
By the way, the wedding event hosted over 600 attendees. No words.
Prior to her wedding, Lim also kept a low profile on her engagement, initially just sharing a picture of her fiancé’s back.
Regardless, she thanked all her guests for honouring her requests and added how moved she was throughout the event, including her sibling’s speeches about their childhood.
Awwww. Now that’s just mad cute.
