4 Out Of 6 Places That Chinese Tour Group Infected With Coronavirus Visited Now Closed

A group of Chinese tourists visited six places in Singapore when they were here from 22 to 23 January.

After knowing that one or a few of them had the coronavirus and infected a few Singaporeans working at the stores, four of the six visited places have since closed. The infection has led to seven cases thus far.

The places are Diamond Industries Jewellery Company, Yong Thai Hang, Royal Dragon Restaurant and Meeting You Restaurant.

2 More Local Infections In Singapore Confirmed

A 27-year-old Singaporean was infected when he was in the private business meeting at Grand Hyatt Singapore between 20 and 22 January 2020. The meeting was also said to have resulted in the infection of three other foreigners who have since returned to their respective countries.

A 41-year-old Singaporean was also found to be infected when he first fell sick on 28 January 2020. However, he has no travel history to China and is unsure as to how he even got infected in the first place. The Ministry of Health is currently taking action to interview him and his close contacts to determine who and where he got the virus from.

Singapore Airlines Launching 5th Daily Flight To Perth In June

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has just announced that they will be launching their fifth daily flight to Perth in June this year.

Starting from 1 June, flight SQ229 will depart from Singapore at 12.20pm and reach Perth at 5.25pm. It will then return as flight SQ230 from Perth at 6.40pm the same day and reach Singapore at 12.10am the next morning.

The extra flight will help to increase SIA’s seat capacity by 24%, with 110,500 seats a year.

Man Caught On CCTV Hitting 6YO Boy Jailed For 2 Years

A 32-year-old Singaporean was caught on CCTV hitting his girlfriend’s then six-year-old son in their home in August 2018.

He made sure that there were no visible injuries on the boy’s face and continued hitting him. However, he didn’t know that his girlfriend had installed a CCTV camera in the room because she suspected the man of hurting her children.

He pleaded guilty to one count of ill-treating a child and will be serving a jail term of two years. He could have been jailed up to eight years and fined up to $8,000 for ill-treating a child.

Domestic Helper Jailed 6 Months After Abusing Child And Lying About It

27-year-old War War Myint Aung pleaded guilty to one count of ill-treating a child and will be serving a jail term of six months.

On 12 April last year, her employer’s 19-month-old son was left in her care while they brought their other son out of the house at around 7am.

After the boy was fed lunch, he started crying and no matter what War War Myint Aung did, he wouldn’t stop. Frustrated, she held him by his hand and beat him multiple times with a clothes hanger that she took from the toilet.

When her employer saw the bruises on her son’s right cheek, she asked what happened, to which War War Myint Aung lied and said that he fell down in the master bedroom while she was in the toilet.

Her employer didn’t believe her and ultimately called the police to report the incident.
