Everything About The Grisly Murder Of The 2-Year-Old Baby Girl At Chin Swee Road

A 30-year-old mother and 31-year-old father were charged in court yesterday, 17 September for murdering their two-year-old daughter.

The police received a call for assistance at Block 52 Chin Swee Road at 8.30pm on 10 September, at about 8.30pm when neighbours smelled something rotting.

The police left the scene with the metal pot, which allegedly contained the burnt remains. It was found in a one-room rental flat on the eighth storey of the block.

Both of them are expected to be charged under Section 302(2) of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or life in prison.

Rest Of September Expected To Be Hazy, Dry And Warm With Temperature Between 26 To 34°C

According to the weatherman, Singapore is expected to remain dry and warm for the rest of September, with the possibility of short duration showers near the end.

NEA also reported that Singapore might be facing a rainfall deficit situation for the first time in five years.

The dry season is believed to be due to the existing positive phase of Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) which brings drier conditions to the most southern ASEAN region.

Singapore had also experienced a dry spell in August this year where the rainfall was recorded nearly 100% lower than average.

Singapore is 2nd Worst Globally For Workplace Diversity; 1 in 4 Workers Bullied

Singapore is the second-worst performing country in terms of workplace diversity and inclusion (D&I) practices,

These results are based on a poll of employees in 14 developed countries by Kantar, a data, insights and consulting firm.

In fact, Singtel is the only company locally to make the global top 100 in a separate D&I index by Refinitiv.

Findings showed that many Singapore workers are struggling to deal with pressure, with 44% reporting that they are affected by “stress and anxiety” at work.

Ferry Terminal Murder Trial: Accused Stabbed Supervisor And Pawned Her Gold Jewellery 

Cleaner, Malaysian Ahmad Muin Yaacob, 26, stands accused of brutally murdering the 54-year-old supervisor Maimunah Awang.

If convicted, he faces the death penalty.

On 21 November 2016, Ahmad attacked Maimunah with a pair of grass cutters and bludgeoned her on the head until she stopped moving.

He then took off all her jewellery and dumped her body into a nearby drain. Ahmad later pawned them off jewellery, dividing the money for dowry and gambling.

He was apprehended by Malaysian police on Dec 18, 2016, and handed over to Singapore police the next day at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

15 Deaths From Dengue So Far, Highest This Decade

The Ministry of Health was notified of six deaths by dengue during an update with the National Environment Agency (NEA).

An NEA spokesman told The New Paper that the victims resided in or near an active or previously active dengue cluster.

Previous media reports said there were five dengue deaths last year, two in 2017, 12 in 2016 and six in 2015.

NEA’s report showed a total of 330 cases at the start of September, a decrease from 666 cases in mid-July.
