Some Baby Products Like Cots & Strollers Sold Online Are Unsafe

Product safety agency in Singapore, Enterprise Singapore, tested 16 baby products sold online. 11 of them are found to be unsafe.

These unsafe products included four baby carriers, four cots and three strollers, the agency said. Some of these hazards include choking, entrapment, falling and laceration.

MAS Unveils 2020 Year of The Rat Chinese Alamanac Coins 

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) revealed the 2020 Year of the Rat Almanac coins on yesterday (5 November 2019).

This is the fourth edition of the Singapore Fourth Chinese Almanac Coin Series that’s issued over a period of 12 years from 2017 to 2028. Each year, a zodiac animal in a park or natural landscape in Singapore is issued.

Microsoft: Four-day Work Week Boosts Sales In Overworked Japan

Japan is notorious for its overwork culture, but Microsoft Japan decided to throw caution to the wind and went ahead with a four-day week for a month in August 2019.

A total of 2,300 employees enjoyed the three-day weekend and as a result, sales were boosted and costs were cut.

Over 450 People In Singapore Caught For Possession After Vaporisers Became Illegal

It became illegal for people in Singapore to own a vaporiser since February 2018. Up till 30 September 2019, 465 people have been caught for the offence.

From January 2017 to September 30, there were 219 cases of people selling vaporisers. These vaporisers were all sold online.

Man Fined For Trying To Enter Singapore Without Reporting More Than $250k In Currencies 

A man was caught and fined on Monday, 4 November for not reporting the movement of currencies of over $250,000 when he entered Singapore.

Tien Siong Chye, 42 was slapped with a fine of $6,000 for the offence. Tien entered Woodlands Checkpoint via car on 18 February with stacks of Singapore and 10 other foreign currencies in cash.
