1. The role of Anastasia Steele

In an interview with Vogue, actress Dakota Johnson said that she loved playing Anastasia Steele. Anastasia’s conflicting nature intrigues Dakota the most, presenting a character who is both an extremely intelligent professional woman and a sexual, instinctive creature. She admires the character’s ability to incorporate so many conflicting traits into one personality, which is something Dakota says she tries to do in her personal life.

2. Clean shaven, or not?

After receiving backlash that clean shaven Jamie Dornan wasn’t sexy enough as Christian Grey in the first film, the producers decided that he could keep his stubble for Fifty shades Darker and Freed. Jamie then revealed that he actually felt uncomfortable without a beard, hence it all worked out for the best!

3. Filming

Filming began in Paris and Vancouver from February 9 to July 12, 2016, under the working title, Further Adventures of Max and Banks 2 & 3 (say what?!). Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled to be released on February 10, 2017, by Universal Pictures. Its sequel and the final instalment is also filming back-to-back for a February 2018 release. This sure keeps fans in full anticipation!

4. Screenwriter

Screenwriter Niall Leonard is actually the husband of E.L. James, who wrote the book series that Fifty Shades is based upon (yes, the creator of the Fifty Shades stories is a woman). This would be an advantage, considering that they would be able to communicate directly to better portray the characters in the film. Pretty cool if you ask me!

5. Rita Ora

In July 2015, It was confirmed that singer Rita Ora would be returning for the sequel to portray her role of Mia Grey. Another character to look forward to, for this lovely singer’s fans!

6. Awkward, or not?

Fifty Shades Darker actress feels baring it all for the camera isn’t necessarily awkward for actors. Dakota says it all depends on the relationship between the actors involved. She mentioned that there were no inhibitions, and it was very honest, very trusting, hence their close association worked well in the Fifty Shades Darker scenes.

7. Plot takes a turn

While this may come as a surprise to some fans of the Fifty Shades franchise, there is a plot to Fifty Shades Darker. Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) face peril at every turn, as Grey’s past comes back to haunt him, leading the couple on a suspenseful journey that neither one of them could have predicted. The thrill is on!
