Children are often curious about things around them, especially at a young age.
However, curiosity might get the better of them and lead to some pretty dangerous situations.
Even more so when they are home alone. Kind of.
7-YO Boy Climbed Onto 11th-Floor Ledge to Play When Parents Were Out
Even at home, there could be situations that lead to danger.
Lianhe Zaobao reported that on 5 Feb, at around 7pm, a seven-year-old boy wearing a red shirt got onto a ledge on the 11th floor of a flat.
This was recorded in a 26-second video and circulated in Whatsapp.
Using a toilet bowl to gain height, the boy apparently climbed out the window from the master bedroom and sprinkled water using a spray-type bottle.
He stayed there for about a minute.
Getting Into Contact With Parents
Following the incident, Zaobao reached out to the child’s family, who was based north of Singapore.
His father said that at the time, he and his wife were not home.
Meanwhile, their Secondary 3 son and Primary 4 daughter were studying in the living room.
The 7-year-old was left alone and went off on his own to climb out the window.
However, his father said that he has since taught him a lesson.
The parents also suspected that he might have been influenced by watching various kinds of TV shows, making him think he could fly.
His father then used shredded paper as an example to show the kind of hurt his son could’ve gotten into should he have fallen.
He has also been restricted from watching videos online.
It goes without saying but, if you have kids or young ones at home, be watchful in case they try something funny.
Be Careful Near Windows
However, some of these foolish acts aren’t limited to young ones.
Previously, it was reported that an elderly man had hung his clothes near an aircon compressor in order to dry them.
This was apparently because of the heavy rain and he was unable to dry his clothes normally.
What was truly scary was when witnesses saw him even stick his leg out of the window and bend his waist in order to reach the laundry.
He told Lianhe Wanbao that he didn’t think it was dangerous.
While he did not commit an offence, what he did might have resulted in a killer litter scenario, along with endangering himself.
