What makes a great outfit better? An amazing backdrop to take photos of your OOTD of course! You might notice that some places in Singapore are too overused and that’s boring. If you need some fresh ideas for your next OOTD venue, consider the following list.
Rochor Centre
The iconic colourful HDB blocks are a picturesque backdrop. They are bound to add vibrancy and edginess into your pictures. In fact, make this your top venue to visit first because the place is going to be demolished this year.
Dakota Cresent
“Behind every cute girl on Instagram is a guy like me, and a brick wall.”–Instagram Husband. If you’re a fan of brick wall backdrops, this is the place for you.
National Gallery
If you’ve taken enough selfies or photos, you’ll know that good lighting is everything. Not only does the National Gallery has abundant sunlight, the neutral grey and white colour theme of the architecture makes any outfit pop in photos. It’s easy to shoot great pictures here and you can have fun experimenting with the angles.
National Museum
The British Colonial building adds a touch of European elegancy into your pictures. The neutral whites of the building also ensure that you will not get any undesirable colour tint in your photos which makes post-processing so much easier.
The Hive @ NTU
NTU students will be very familiar with this building which has beckoned many Instagrammers to their campus. This place is usually crowded with students so it’s better to go when they’re all in lessons or after school hours.
Suntec City Sky Garden
After a major renovation, Suntec City has a new breath of life. The new sky garden on the rooftop is particularly refreshing. The lush greenery stands out against the concrete landscape of central Singapore, making it look like an urban rainforest. A “nature X city” OOTD theme would be apt here.
Sports Hub
The colourful running track and duo-coloured stadium seats make for an interesting backdrop. It’s also convenient to access via Stadium MRT station.
Lucky Plaza
Other than being the favourite hangout place for Filipinos in Singapore, Lucky Plaza is also a fantastic venue for OOTD shots. Head up to the car park at level 8 where you’ll get a breathtaking view of Singapore’s landscape. You’ll have to see it to believe it.
