Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Duo Costs Up to S$4,899 in Singapore

Apple has unveiled the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, and Singapore buyers who want the highest-storage version will need to prepare S$4,899.

The new phone starts at S$3,099 for 256GB. The 512GB model costs S$3,399, the 1TB version costs S$3,999, and the top-end 2TB model costs S$4,899. Apple

Apple unveiled the device on 9 September in Cupertino, California, marking the company’s entry into a foldable smartphone market where rivals such as Samsung and Huawei have already been competing for years.

It Opens Into a 7.6-Inch iPhone

When folded, the iPhone Duo has a 5.4-inch outer OLED display. Open it up and users get a 7.6-inch folding OLED screen, the largest display Apple has put on an iPhone. Both displays support ProMotion refresh rates of up to 120Hz and can reach 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness. Apple

The phone measures 5.2mm thick when open and 11.3mm when folded, while weighing 254g.

Apple has also given the inner screen a nano-texture finish intended to reduce glare and make the fold crease less noticeable. The body uses a titanium frame, while the device carries an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. Apple

Interestingly, Touch ID is built into the side button. There is also an under-display FaceTime camera beneath the inner screen. Apple

Inside is Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, paired with a vapour-chamber cooling system and a battery on each half of the phone.

According to Apple’s testing, the Duo can provide up to 31 hours of video playback using the inner screen, or 44 hours when using the outer screen. Apple also says it can reach 50 per cent charge in about 20 minutes with a sufficiently powerful wired charger. Apple

On the back is a 48MP Dual Fusion camera system consisting of a 48MP main camera and 48MP ultra-wide camera. The folding design also allows the outer display to act as a preview screen when someone is being photographed using the rear cameras. Apple

The Duo runs iOS 27.1 and includes software designed around the larger folding display, including multitasking features. Apple Pencil USB-C support is also planned for later in 2026. Apple

One other thing to note is that the iPhone Duo is eSIM-only worldwide, with no physical SIM-card slot. Apple lists M1, Singtel and StarHub among carriers supporting eSIM. Apple

Singapore Pre-Orders Start on 16 October

So yes, after years of watching other manufacturers make phones that fold in half, Apple finally has one too.

Just perhaps do not fold your bank account along with it.
