There is a Chinese idiom that says “live till you are old; learn till you are old”.
It seems like a lot of people take that to heart and live by those wise words.
One of them is local DJ Dennis Chew.
He just received his scholarship for his full-time studies at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
Congratulations to the local star for his passion for learning.
Here is more about what the scholarship is about.
Local DJ Dennis Chew Receives a Scholarship to Study at Ngee Ann Polytechnic
Are you a student at Ngee Ann Polytechnic?
You may soon be able to catch a glimpse of local DJ Dennis Chew at your school campus.
He’s returning back to school. And with a scholarship, no less.
Local 972 DJ Dennis Chew announced on his social media account that he had earned a scholarship, and was going back to school.

The recipient of last year’s Star Awards All Time Favourite Artist award is also the proud recipient of an award by The Kongzi Culture Fund: “Pei Hwa Foundation Elite Scholarship” (Polytechnic).
The certificate says that the scholarship is for the academic year 2022/2023 and in commendation of Chew’s academic pursuit of Chinese studies.
Just look at the photo of Chew smiling from ear to ear, and you can tell how happy it is.
Based on the pictures that Chew shared on his Instagram account, he received the scholarship certificate from Member of Parliament Tin Pei Ling.
He Is 50 Years Old and This Is His First Scholarship
If you think that getting a scholarship is no big deal and there is no need for Chew to shout about it on Instagram, think again.
For one, Chew is already 50 years old (not old but also not young, lah), so having the courage to go back to school and mingle with the young and energetic is no easy feat.
As Chew acknowledges in his own Instagram caption, many of his classmates are 17 or 18 years old. That’s less than half his age!
The good thing is that Chew is still able to bond with them, so he won’t find his schooling days lonely.
The second fantastic thing is that this is Chew’s first scholarship.
Since Chew considers himself “not smart” and describes himself as being the one who usually learns less quickly than others, scoring a scholarship is definitely an achievement in his eyes.
Here’s wishing Chew all the best for his studies. And congrats once again!
