A 30-year-old female motorcyclist was taken to hospital after an accident involving a taxi and two motorcycles in Tampines on Friday afternoon, 4 September.
Police said they were alerted to the accident at the junction of Tampines Avenue 4 and Tampines Central 5 at about 4.15pm.
The woman was taken conscious to Changi General Hospital, while a 74-year-old male taxi driver is assisting the police with investigations.
Dashcam Footage Shows Rider Thrown Onto Road
Dashcam footage shared online shows two motorcyclists travelling along the road before the collision.
According to AsiaOne, the footage shows a yellow ComfortDelGro taxi making a right turn from the opposite direction before colliding with the motorcycle travelling ahead. The impact throws the rider off the motorcycle and onto the road. The other motorcyclist brakes before reaching the vehicles.
8world similarly reported that footage circulating online showed a motorcyclist being thrown off the motorcycle and landing on the road.
Police said the accident involved one taxi and two motorcycles. Investigations are ongoing.
Accident Caused Traffic Congestion
A Zaobao photographer who arrived shortly after the accident reported that the vehicles were stopped across several lanes, causing heavy congestion in the area.
At least seven buses were caught in the traffic jam, and some passengers were allowed to leave their buses while the road was obstructed. The affected stretch reopened at around 5.10pm.
Singapore Civil Defence Force personnel took one person to Changi General Hospital. Police later confirmed that the injured person was the 30-year-old female motorcyclist and that she was conscious when taken to hospital.
