A transport company director was sentenced to five days’ jail on 15 October 2026 after offering a site supervisor S$50 per lorry-load to allow chicken compost to be illegally dumped in Tuas.
Kee Yuet Ting, 40, the director of KYT Transport, pleaded guilty to a corruption charge.
The arrangement involved ten lorry-loads destined for a plot in Tuas South Way in June 2024. The supervisor ultimately received none of the promised money.
Offered Money to Use a Construction Storage Site
The site supervisor, Hossain Toufik, worked for Koh Civil Engineering. He oversaw land used to store construction materials for a National Environment Agency waste management facility.
Kee had collected chicken compost from two egg farms on 21 June 2024. When a vegetable farm said it did not need the compost, he drove around Tuas looking for somewhere to dispose of it.
He approached Hossain with the S$50-per-load proposal. Hossain initially refused because he knew the dumping was illegal, but eventually agreed.
Dumping Discovered During Second Day’s Deliveries
On 22 June 2024, Kee arranged for six lorry-loads to be brought to the site.
Hossain used an excavator to create a pit for the compost, which was then covered with fresh sand.
Four more loads were arranged for the following day. While the third lorry was unloading, the unauthorised dumping came to the attention of the company responsible for the site.
Kee stopped the final delivery and sent lorries back to collect the waste.
Hossain, 34, had been sentenced to three days’ jail on 19 June 2026 after pleading guilty to a corruption charge over the arrangement.
The corruption offence carries a maximum punishment of five years’ jail, a S$100,000 fine, or both.
