Apple’s iPhone Duo launched in Singapore on 23 October, and one Carousell seller was already asking S$8,888 for a 256GB Star White model.
That is S$5,789 above Apple’s S$3,099 retail price for the same storage capacity, or nearly three times as much. The advertised amount is what the seller wants, rather than evidence that someone paid it.
S$8,888 for the Base Storage Model
The public listing, posted by Carousell user “chillipadi”, described the phone as a brand-new local set. Its price was marked as fixed.
In the listing’s description, the seller said an unopened phone was expected to arrive at their doorstep on 23 October and offered to send it to a buyer through GrabExpress after receiving it.
The sales pitch included: “No waiting list. No 3-month wait.” That was the seller’s claim about the offer, rather than an independently established waiting time for purchases through Apple.
The S$8,888 asking price was also well above several other advertisements visible in Carousell’s iPhone Duo category. Examples included 256GB Star White phones listed at S$3,688 and S$3,780, and a 256GB Night Sky model advertised for S$3,590. These were advertised prices too.
Apple’s Prices Start at S$3,099
Apple’s Singapore store lists four storage options:

The prices apply to both Star White and Night Sky. Apple’s purchase page also states a limit of two iPhone Duo devices per customer.
Even the highest-capacity version therefore has an official retail price below that particular seller’s asking price for the 256GB model.
Resale Listings Appeared on Launch Day
Mothership reported finding more than 200 iPhone Duo listings on Carousell at about 1:45pm on 23 October. Its checks found advertised prices ranging from above S$3,000 to above S$6,000, depending on colour and storage.
The Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone, with a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 5.4-inch outer screen. Pre-orders began on 16 October, ahead of availability from 23 October.
