SIA Plane Tilts During Perth Landing Attempt, Pilots Perform Go-Around & Land Safely

A Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight landed safely in Perth after its pilots discontinued a landing attempt during which the aircraft tilted noticeably, with one wing appearing close to the ground.

Flight SQ213 was flying from Singapore to Perth on Saturday, 31 October 2026. SIA said it encountered strong winds while approaching Perth International Airport, prompting the pilots to perform a go-around.

The Airbus A350-900 subsequently landed safely at 12:30pm local time and taxied to the gate, the airline said.

SIA added that the safety of its customers and crew was its top priority.

CNA described a clip circulating on social media in which the plane drops towards the runway under a cloudy sky and leans to one side, one wing dipping close to the ground, before it climbs away again.

Passenger Described Rough Conditions

In an earlier interview with 8world, Chris Perry said he had been waiting at the airport’s viewing deck with his family for his sister Amanda to arrive.

What Is A Go-Around?

A go-around involves discontinuing a landing approach and climbing away to prepare for another approach.

The US Federal Aviation Administration describes it as a safe, routine manoeuvre that can be initiated by a pilot or requested by an air traffic controller.
