The new year means a new you with a slew of new things such as opportunities, goals and leaves!
You might have just been back from vacation but is it ever enough?
If you’re already planning your travel trips for 2018, you’re not alone.
But let me make the process a little more smooth sailing.
A study done by travel company, Expedia and Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) revealed the best days to book the cheapest flights and the best times to travel to in 2018.
When do you book your air travel?
Most people believe that Tuesday is the best day to book your flights (maybe coz’ of Scoot’s Take Off Tuesday), but according to the said study, Sunday is the best day of the week to book your plane tickets.
However, this does not apply to travellers departing from Australia, Iceland, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Peru, Tunisia, Thailand and sadly, Singapore.
But if you’re from other countries, then set some time aside on Sundays—I am looking at you, Malaysian readers.
The worst day to book your flights is Friday, so don’t succumb to the TGIF mood as the average ticket prices are freaking expensive.
Ok, additionally, you can save more money if you start your journey on a Thursday or Friday if you’re travelling via international economy flight, with the exception of flights leaving from Saudi Arabia and Fiji.
The best time to fly
In every country, there is always an off and peak period, and if you’re looking for big savings, then listen up.
If you’re planning to head to Hong Kong or Malaysia, March would be the best time while November is the cheapest month to travel to South Korea and Thailand.
You can see big savings if you travel to Japan in January, provided that you can brave their wintery weather.
China is predicted to cheapest in December.
For those who are setting their sight on Europe, the cheapest months for travel are March (Spring), May (Summer) and September (Fall).
Those who are planning to go down under, March would be your best bet.
So make full good use of your money and time, and before I forget, there are only four long weekends in 2018, unfortunately.
Carpe Diem, guys!
