Ah, public holidays, you know we can’t live without them. At all. Or to be more exact, we live for them after exhausting our annual leave.

Unless you’re a workaholic who doesn’t know when to stop. Oh, and hates them because it means lesser assistants in the office. (Disclaimer intended.)

For 2018, 11 days are designated as the official public holidays in Singapore

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has released a list of public holidays on their website.

Labour Day, Vesak Day, Deepavali and Christmas falls on a Tuesday. Hari Raya Haji falls on a Wednesday and National Day, on Thursday.

New Year’s Day falls on a Monday, together with Chinese New Year, Good Friday and Hari Raya Puasa which falls on Friday gives you four long weekends in 2018.

But if you play your cards right, you might enjoy more than 4 long weekends next year. With just 5 days of annual leave.

Here’s how.

Use 5 Days Of Annual Leave To Get 9 Long Weekends

So now that you know the public holidays, what’s the next step? Sit back and complain about how there’s too little long weekends?

No, that’s not how Singaporeans do things. If you want to get something, you’ve got to go all out for it.

The folks running the website sgmytaxi.com came up with an infographic teaching you, working Singaporeans, how to get 9 long weekends using just 5 days of leave.

And because we’re your BFF, we knew this had to be shared with you.

Book your annual leave on 30 Apr28 May10 Aug5 Nov and 24 Dec 2018 to enjoy another 5 long weekends on top of the four given.

Theoretically, if you want to go on short trips like a two-day stay in JB, Batam, etc, you’re able to travel up to 9 times for the next year.

And you’ll still have 9 days of annual leave left for a long trip. Not bad, right?

Better book your leave early before your colleagues take them.#LongWeekends2018Hack
