As Asians, we all know that our parents care for us one way or another. Likewise, we love our parents very much. But somehow, it’s just generally difficult and awkward for us to say that we love them.
It was probably way easier to say “I love you” to my parents as compared to right now when I’m all grown up.
Most of us would know what I’m feeling, but even though we don’t say those three words, it doesn’t mean that we don’t express that love through actions.
Likewise, our parents also express their love through their actions.
One Taiwanese father also showed his love for his daughter when he painstakingly washed paint off his hand using solvent even though it hurt so bad, just because he didn’t want to embarrass her by turning up at her school’s Christmas production looking unkempt.
The Backstory
The father was someone who worked in the paint production line. This meant that he would often leave work with paint stains on his hands after having to deal with so much of it throughout his work.
