So, who is this “tai sui” (太岁)? And why must certain zodiac signs pray to tai sui during certain years?
For starters, tai sui is also known as the “Grand Duke of Jupiter”. From the name, you can kind of guess that tai sui‘s influence is linked to the orbital path of Jupiter.
And that’s where zodiac signs come in. Each year, as Jupiter orbits the sun, tai sui‘s influence on different zodiac signs change as well. As a result, each year, certain zodiac signs are said to clash with tai sui (犯太岁).
People of zodiac signs which clash with tai sui in a particular year could see misfortunes such as family issues, health problems, financial setbacks, or even natural disasters.
