Do you think that everyone nowadays looks a lot better?
No, it’s not more people have started to exercise now. Because people now look like Song Joong-ki as they’re mostly wearing masks.
Reader Bao: Not true. You don’t need to wear a mask when you go out of your house
Well, since the Circuit Breaker started, we’ve been told progressively to wear a mask—from supermarkets to markets to convenience stores to malls to public transport and now, even to the banks. So unless you’re out for an exercise or to buy food, you most probably are Joong-ki-ed.
Reader Bao: Why are people still going to the bank during this period?
Beats me, but if you’re heading to one, then read on.
People Going to Banks Must Wear Masks As Well If Not They’d Be Denied Entry
Banks have now also jumped on the bandwagon of turning everyone into a Song Joong-ki as from immediate effect, you must wear a mask when you’re in a bank, if not you’d be denied entry.
And we’re talking about all the banks in Singapore.
The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) said, “With immediate effect, all customers visiting bank branches must wear a face mask to safeguard their own health and well-being, and that of other customers and staff working at these premises.
“Those not wearing a face mask would be refused entry.”
Lest you’re not aware, banks are still open but not all outlets; for example, as of today, 29 DBS/POSB branches are closed; only 28 other branches are open.
ABS added, “Unless absolutely necessary, customers should refrain from going to the branches.”
So if you die-die want to check if you’ve received your $600 from Ah Gong, you might want to use the ATMs instead.
Nevertheless, ABS has something to say about ATMs.
“Customers are also advised to wear a face mask when lining up to use ATMs.”
Advised, not compulsory. Yet.
I’m starting to get worried about the word advise; it’s like a Pokemon that can eventually evolve.
In the meantime, they suggest that people use the bank’s online, mobile and digital channels to access banking services during this period.
Now, if you’re still wondering why masks have suddenly become such a big thingy, you must be new to Goody Feed, so you might want to download the Goody Feed app to read more light-hearted (filled with cold jokes) yet informative articles, as not all articles would be on Facebook.
And here’s why everyone’s become a Song Joong-ki.
Asymptomatic Transmission
There’s increasing evidence that people can transmit Covid-19 to others before they experience symptoms (presymptomatic) or even when they don’t experience symptoms at all (asymptomatic).
This is why Singapore is changing its view on wearing face masks because of these silent, ‘hidden’ carriers.
A study in Singapore, for example, showed that at least 10 people got the coronavirus from those without symptoms.
And worse, in a very recent study, it says that up to 70% of infected people didn’t have any symptoms at all, and could pass the virus to someone else for about four weeks.
So wear a mask to protect others, please.
