BMW Took Not Just 1 But 2 BlueSG Lots at Bukit Timah

It appears that errant drivers and BlueSG lots are going hand in hand more frequently than most people would’ve preferred.

According to Facebook page ROADS.sganother case of a non-electric car parking at a BlueSG charging lot has occurred. Though this time, it’s slightly different in the sense that it’s not just hogging a single lot…

But two lots, which certainly brings an infamous quote to mind.

“Prepare for trouble, and make it double.”

BMW Took Not Just 1 But 2 BlueSG Lots at Bukit Timah

According to the post on 22 November 2020, a certain Ms Ong had been visiting Bukit Timah Shopping Centre when she witnessed an absolutely vile act in front of her:

A BMW was taking up not just one, but two BlueSG lots.

To make matters worse, one of the lots had been auto-assigned to her when she made a reservation on the BlueSG app.

As a result, Ms Ong had to go the extra mile to cancel the reservation, and find another parking slot instead.

The notion, it seems, was enough to drive her irate.

“Frustrating to see all these self-entitled drivers thinking they can flout the rules and regulations just because they drive expensive cars,” she said.

Harsh Measures

In the post, Ms Ong suggested a company-issued wheel clamp for all BlueSG cars.

If someone is caught abusing the lot, the driver of the BlueSG car can retrieve the clamp and set it on the offending car.

The errant driver will then have to pay a fine of $200 to unlock the clamp.

Though the recommendation sounds like a nightmare for all the ‘free-spirited’ drivers out there, it was swiftly shot down by a Netizen, who did not believe in its efficiency in the long run.

However, even so, it appears that Netizens largely concurred with the notion of a punishment for these drivers…

With some even proposing their own methods/improvisations.

One thing’s for sure though; something needs to be done about such incidents before they go out of control.

Previous Instances

Though such incidents are not exactly rampant on social media (yet), they are far from being non-existent.

On 7 November 2020, a BlueSG driver got so irate at an offending Volkswagen that they parked the electronic vehicle right in front of it.

This classic example of self-driven karma would later be lauded by Netizens, and even got referenced in the aforementioned 22 November incident.

And on 19 August 2020, a peeved BlueSG car driver took to social media to vent his frustrations about a driver who had parked in a lot reserved for BlueSG cars, thus preventing him from docking.

Since the rental session only ends when the car has been plugged in, the man above was frustrated because he was still being charged.

As a result, he had to temporarily park at the side of the road.

BlueSG

For the uninitiated, BlueSG is a Singapore based company providing electric car-sharing services.

The cars are parked at different carparks throughout the country, and all a customer has to do is reserve one on their app and pick it up from the specified lot.

When they want to return their cars, drivers have to park at designated BlueSG parking lots and dock the vehicle at the charging stations.
