Boss Allegedly Told M’sian Employee How Capable He Is & Expected Her to Have Sex with Him

When one complains about their boss, it’s probably something about forcing them to work too much overtime, or underpaying them, or expecting their employees to work for 8 hours a day without even a small break.

But I think very few have had the misfortune of dealing with a boss who brings his master-pet slave fantasies into the workplace.

Seriously, ever heard of “maintaining a professional attitude”?

How Everything Began 

On Saturday (12 June), 26-year-old Ker Qian uploaded a video on Facebook in which she explained how the entire incident went down.

A female dance instructor in Malaysia, Ker Qian said that she was approached by the father of one of her ex-students in April. He told her that he had recently invested money into opening a new dance studio, and wanted her to be a dance instructor there.

He also wanted her to be the studio’s owner.

During her visit to the studio in Denai Alam, Selangor, the man introduced Ker Qian as the future owner of the studio to the renovation workers—this was despite Ker Qian having not yet agreed to the man’s proposal.

She said that the introduction had shocked her, but she still remained quiet.

Explaining that he had spent around RM$100,000 (S$32,214) on the studio, the man told Ker Qian that he needed someone who was passionate about dancing, loved children, and wanted to earn an income.

And surprise, surprise—he thought that she was his perfect choice.

In the video, Ker Qian said that she didn’t trust him immediately. Turns out, several friends who had collaborated with him previously all suffered unhappy outcomes.

Geez, did this guy just go around opening dance studios and approaching instructors like a creep?

After going home to think over the offer and discussing it with a friend, Ker Qian decided to agree to be an instructor at the studio for six months. However, she refused to take up the studio owner role.

Weirdly Specific Requirements When Recruiting Other Instructors

Okay, so maybe the first part of the incident is still acceptable—maybe he’s just an uncommonly altruistic soul!

If you had that thought, prepare for it to evaporate into thin air.

In May, Ker Qian began to work for the man. Except, she was not paid for this work, said Ker Qian in the video.

Does something smell like exploitation here?

Ker Qian’s work included helping the man to look up how to best track attendance and recruit other dance instructors. However, she noted that his criteria for recruiting other instructors were “odd”.

For example, the man only wanted female instructors of ages 18 to 25. But that’s not the weirdest part: the man told her to find girls from broken families or girls who urgently needed money.

The man’s response to Ker Qian when asked about his requirements, was that they would have more passion for the job. They would also be more serious in the job because they needed the money.

Sorry, I don’t follow the logic flow here. What does having a broken family have to do with passion for the job?

Made to Call Him “Master” While He Called Her “dog slave”

No, you read that correctly.

On top of shamelessly exploiting his workers, this boss is apparently, also into some sort of master-servant pet play, and expects his employees to indulge in his fantasies. 

This just gets worse, and worse.

In the video, Ker Qian explained that things began to escalate in the beginning of June. The man had told her that because she was ready, they would be “moving onto the next phase” and taking the “training” to the next step.

WhatsApp screenshots showing the messages exchanged between the man and herself was shown in the video. From the screenshots, the man had repeatedly told her to keep their Zoom meetings and WhatsApp conversations confidential.

“Best to have zoom meeting[s] alone in your room to make sure the exchange of information is always kept private,” the man wrote in his text message.

The man then told her that he felt she was being rude to him, and not being respectful by calling him by his name. Ker Qian explained that when she asked him what he would prefer to be called, the man told her to call him “Master”. In turn, he said that he would call her “dog slave”.

“To help, you can greet me as Master from now onwards and I will greet you as dog slave. It will solidify the process,” he told her in a message.

He also told her: “I am here for you. I believe you know by now that No one around you understand you and can help you. Not even your family and close friends. So you leave all of you to me. Your mind body and soul and I will guide it.”

Sir, the last time I checked, she signed up for a dance instructor job, not some spiritual guidance lesson.

Used Fake Methodology to Try and Change Her “Mindset”

The man also told her to repeat a certain phrase, 12 times per day for 12 weeks: “I am Ker Qian. I am [the man]’s dog. I will 100 per cent listen to [the man].”

In the video, Ker Qian said that her boss had told her it was a methodology based on overseas research, called the 12 times, 12 weeks methodology. He told her that if she followed his method, she would quickly become successful and develop a better mindset.

Perhaps he would like to try the same method to change his own mindset: “I should stop being a sexual predator.”

Upon hearing this, Ker Qian said that she started to laugh. However, she was told not to think that the methodology was funny or ridiculous. The man said that she would need to trust him if she wanted to be successful.

Ker Qian was also instructed to “make it a habit to greet your master every morning when you wake up, inform your master whenever you are going somewhere or do something”. From the WhatsApp screenshots, this included “going shopping, going tuition, going bathing, going eating”, and even when she was “going to sleep”.

“Understand b*tch?” the man wrote in his message.

Voiced Her Discomfort 

Ker Qian attempted to voice her discomfort, telling her boss that she was “not comfortable” with his way of doing things, which she felt was “too extreme”. She also told him that these things concerned her own privacy.

However, she was allegedly told that “As a successful person, you have no privacy. You have no private time.”

The man told her that he would explain things to her during their Zoom meeting later, where he allegedly scolded her for having such a “childish” mindset.

He then started talking about Ker Qian’s past relationships, saying that she would be very happy and “give them [her] body” and “make out” with her ex-boyfriends whenever they bought her flowers or brought her to the movies.

“Then why can’t you give me your body when I can give you a bright future? Why do you want to be so far from me?” the man then asked.

“You see lah. I’m a capable person and also very rich. If today I want you to suck my c**k, you will suck til very comfortable, more happy, and more proud, right?” he added.

Clearly, he isn’t very capable if he had to resort to these methods.

He then continued, asking her why she wanted to do that for other men when she would feel prouder and happier doing that for him instead.

I can’t be the only one internally screaming for her to get away from this creep. 

Reported Him to the Police

Obviously, Ker Qian now knew that something was wrong.

Consulting her friend about what happened, she was told that what had transpired was sexual harassment, in addition to the use of insulting language. She was encouraged to make a police report, but not before gathering evidence.

Heeding her friend’s advice, the next meeting with the man was recorded. Ker Qian said that she “acted dumb” during the meeting in order to get the man to say everything.

During the meeting, the man told her that she should be “grateful and appreciate this opportunity and be 100 per cent owned by me”. He added, “To put it bluntly, treat as though I am your boyfriend. You can treat it like that. Where you can share everything.”

She then published the recording of the said call in her post, and made a police report the next day. According to Ker Qian, the situation is currently being investigated by the police.

At the end of her video, Ker Qian shared a message with her audience, saying that those who face sexual harassment should not be afraid to report it to the police or face the problem. She also added that victims do not have to face the situation alone, and that they should confide in friends and family.

“After this incident, I became a bit silent, and also very helpless. Because I was thinking, was it actually my fault? But my friend told me it’s not my fault,” said Ker Qian.
