Hong Kong actress Uki Law (羅雪妍), best known to TVB viewers as Gigi in Come Home Love: Lo And Behold (愛回家之開心速遞), has revealed that she has been taking on four different jobs in recent years to support herself.
The 31-year-old actress told HK01 that besides her entertainment work, she also works as a programme host, a qualified yoga instructor and a full-time office employee.
She Works In Front Of The Camera And Behind A Desk
Law said she moved out to live independently and now has to manage her own living expenses, including rent.
To maintain a more stable income while continuing her acting career, she took on a nine-to-five office role. When she is not filming, she works as an office employee, before returning to TVB for acting or hosting duties when required.
She added that her employers have been supportive of her acting commitments and allow her to take leave when filming schedules require her attention.
Actress Says She Is Careful With Money
Despite being spotted shopping at luxury stores, Law said she is not someone who spends freely.
She described herself as a “coupon expert” and said she regularly looks for discounts when buying food and daily necessities. She also makes use of workplace perks, such as coffee benefits, to reduce her expenses.
Law shared that a meal that normally costs around HK$50 could be reduced to slightly more than HK$30 with coupons. She said that by controlling her spending, her total cost for three meals in a day can stay below HK$200.
Saving Towards A Future Home
Law said having more income can also bring more temptation to spend, but she tries to balance rewarding herself with maintaining financial discipline.
She explained that while she may buy branded items occasionally, she often looks for discounts and outlet deals rather than paying full price.
With her multiple jobs and careful budgeting habits, Law hopes to continue building her savings, including working towards the long-term goal of owning a home.
