Just about two weeks ago, I wrote an article about a molest case that happened near our office.
And it seems like criminal rates in Bukit Batok are going up.
Just yesterday (Feb 26), a 63-year-old man was arrested for stealing undergarments.

Yes, undergarments.
What happened
This man targeted a certain household in Blk 106 of Bukit Batok Central.
According to one of the tenants of the house, he had stolen from them at least five times in the span of three months.
You can watch his disgusting act here.
29-year-old Mr Li claims that some 50 undergarments have went missing ever since the thief started to prey on their house.
He and his wife is living with some other tenants with their landlord’s family.
Mr Li added that at least five pieces of undergarments were stolen during the last three months.
As he and his wife work long hours, they leave their clothes to dry along the corridor so that they do not have to worry about the rain.

They first thought that the wind blew their undergarments away, but became suspicious after it happened for a few times.
Don’t care
This thief has quite the guts.
According to Mr Li, he even carried out his act when Mr Li was sitting just by the window!
The man stole a new brassiere belonging to Mrs Li. It was worth S$200.
Mr Li was unaware of the act happening right in front of his eyes as he was surfing the web.

Look up, people. Look up!
Mr Li then went to retrieve the CCTV footage and called the police.
“Through the CCTV app on my phone, I directed the camera at the corridor.
On the evening of Feb 22, we caught an uncle on video taking underwear from our racks and handed the footage over to the police.”
Arrested
According to Stomp, the police carried out extensive ground enquiries.

With the help of footages from police cameras, they successfully arrested him on Monday.
The thief is believed to be the culprit in other similar cases in the Bukit Batok estate.
He will be charged in court tomorrow (Feb 28).
If convicted, he faces up to 3 years’ jail and/or a fine.
Well, he deserves it!
But one thing’s for sure: Bukit Batok sure is becoming more dangerous with all these perverts lurking around…
