Some humans are really bad at being human.
I’m sure we’ve all heard stories of people doing terrible things to each other – mass killings, keeping slaves, cannibalism, the list is endless really.
But I’m sure many of us also thought that most of these horrible acts were a thing of the past and that we have evolved to become better people.
Unfortunately, not quite.
Burnt Corpse Of Foetus In Metal Pot
The incomplete burnt corpse of a foetus was found in a metal pot at Block 52, Chin Swee Road, on 10 September 2019.
This is what I meant when I said that some humans are seriously bad at being human. The entire act screams inhumanity.
If you could even think of doing something so cruel to a foetus, then there has got to be something really wrong with you.
The police said they received a call regarding a “case of unnatural death” at Blk 52 Chin Swee Road, at about 8.30pm at night on 10 September.
Residents Smelled An Unusual Odour From Flat
Some residents living near the area told Lianhe Wanbao that they could smell an unusual and pungent odour coming from that particular flat.
After the police arrived at the scene, they stayed till about 1am, conducting investigations and interviewing residents of the block.
A housewife said that the police brought a metal pot with them when they left, which contained a bulging bag.
According to Wanbao, “reliable sources” had informed them that there was a corpse of a foetus found inside the pot. The corpse was also reported to be charred.
Two Brothers Living In The Flat
A 63-year-old neighbour, known as Lin, stated that two men who were brothers were living in the flat.
They have been staying there for about four months.
The previous tenants of the flat were a married couple with several young children, and the police have also turned to them for assistance in the investigation.
The older brother is currently serving a prison sentence, so the 20-year-old younger brother stays alone by himself in the flat. He has not been seen after he spoke to the police regarding the incident.
Apart from the brothers, Lin also said that they would often see a young lady going in and out of the flat. She is believed to be close to the brothers.
The siblings also have an older sister, who was previously in a drug rehabilitation facility.
Investigations Are Still Ongoing
The family did not interact much with the rest of their neighbours.
The identity of the foetus is yet to be confirmed, and the police are also still currently in the middle of investigating why it was being “cooked”.
It is also unclear if the foetus was aborted due to natural causes, or man-made reasons.
Whatever it may be, it was still definitely not right for them to decide to “cook” it. Not only is it extremely sickening, but it also takes cruelty to a whole new level.
We can only hope that the culprits are caught and brought to justice for this horrible act and that the poor foetus rests in peace.
An Unfortunate Coincidence
Separately, in an unfortunate coincidence, the print edition of Wanbao had a hotpot advertisement just below the report of this incident.
Here’s a simplified summary of the South Korea martial law that even a 5-year-old would understand:
