The death of a loved one is one of the worst possible news a person could ever receive in their lifetime.
On top of that, we are unable to control when we receive such news and thus whether or not we are able to process it in more ideal scenarios.
While there are no “good” places to process grief, one of the worse ones is definitely while at work, particularly if one’s work involves operating a public service.
Unfortunately, this poor combination of circumstance happened to one poor woman on Saturday (23 May).
Bus Captain Receives News Of Husband’s Passing While On The Job
A bus captain operating a Bus 189 along Clementi Avenue 1 was seen crying alone while parked at a bus stop.
Three men approached her after noticing her crying and started recording the encounter in a 15-minute video.
She managed to explain while sobbing that she had just received the news of her husband passing away back in Malaysia.
Through the video, she was seen struggling to cope with her emotions and crying uncontrollably.
The men then accompanied her while helping to phone her superior to inform him of the situation and request assistance.
They then even brought her tissue paper and a drink to help comfort her.
In our worst times, it is always heartwarming to have people (even complete strangers) to help us when we are in need.

Another Bus 189 Passed By & Ignored Their Pleas
At one point in the video, another bus 189 was passing by them when one of the men flagged it.
However, after stopping for a few moments, the bus captain brushed them off their request for him to assist her and simply drove off because he or she allegedly has passengers.

The man on the phone with her supervisor turned noticeably disgruntled with this act, blaming the poor communication and started complaining about this for a few minutes more.
Meanwhile, the bus captain herself was on the phone (presumably with another relative or close friend) back in Malaysia and trying to cope, thankfully with the help of the other two men.
The bus captain, who is Malaysian herself, was separated from her husband due to the circuit breaker measures in place due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Hopefully, she does get to return to Malaysia smoothly to send her husband off and that she may pull through this tough period.
