Motorcyclist Flung Onto Car After Bus Rammed from Behind
A 27-second video of the incident was shared on Facebook by ‘SG Road Vigilante’ on Monday (8 January 2024).
The incident footage captures when a private bus, driven by the 72-year-old man, collided with a motorcyclist from behind.Â
The video, recorded from a rear-facing camera, shows the motorcyclist travelling on Commonwealth Avenue West.Â
After passing the Clementi West Ave 6 intersection, both the rider and the dashcam-equipped vehicle slowed down.Â
However, the blue private bus behind them attempted to change lanes but failed to do so quickly enough.
This resulted in a forceful collision that caused the 46-year-old motorcyclist to be flung forward, crashing into the car in front of him.
The impact was so hard that it shattered the rear windshield.
It also resulted in noticeable debris flying off, including what appeared to be a fragment of the rider’s helmet.

The motorcyclist remained motionless on the road, with several SCDF personnel providing him with first aid.
Another individual, dressed in blue, appeared to be assisting in the process. An SCDF officer also prepared a stretcher to transport the victim to the waiting ambulance.
The police reported that they were alerted to an accident involving a car, a bus, and a motorcycle at the junction of Clementi Avenue 6 and Commonwealth Avenue West around 7.15 am on Monday (8 January 2024).Â
The motorcyclist was conscious when taken to the National University Hospital.Â
